New Hammers!
The hammer is the part of the piano that hits the strings to make the musical sound. Over time they get worn out and eventually need to be replaced. These pianos were getting fully rebuilt (replacing the hammers is one of the steps of the rebuilding process), because they were over 100 years old. These are some pictures of during and after the hammer replacement process.
